Dear Colleagues, It's Dan Fischer here. I feel privileged to connect with you this way. When we opened the doors to Ultradent over 28 years ago, a blog was unheard of! And now, it's the most convenient way of sharing ideas, thoughts and experiences. I'm most excited because I've learned in my career as a dentist that amazing things happen in the dental chair. Our patients teach us important lessons every day. As a practitioner who has also had the opportunity to work with some of the most brilliant professionals in the creation of dental materials, I feel there is value in sharing experiences with you. I hope that you share yours with me. Good sharing is almost always a positive. Warm Regards, Dr. Dan Fischer Ultradent Products, Inc.

Dear Dr. Fischer,
I attended the Ultradent Elite course in March and would like to compliment you and your staff on an out-standing job. I hope to be able to attend your lecture this month in Morgantown, WV at the WVU School of Dentistry. Your son-in-law (sorry, his name escape me at the present time) presented a lecture during the Elite course on dental materials and we were able to do a little "bench research" with bonding agents. This was a great presentation/bench exercise as it brought dental materials and clinical application into focus. Do you have any plans to offer a one/two day course with a similar format? Again thank you, and your staff, for your hospitality.

Dan,
in your roles as dentist, visionary and entrepreneur, I'm curious to know what you envision as a sorely needed capability to have available in you in your dental practice, but are unable to develop it in your company -- either because the technology doesn't exist, because of too great an expense, or for any other reason. It may be something seemingly very simple (as, for example, Astringident was a simple idea, but complex to develop), or quite futuristic and grand (e.g., "Self-repairadent," that when applied to a cavity or carious lesion, causes the dentin and enamel to grow back).

Mr. Fischer:
I've never been awear of the products your company offers, because I'm a dentistry student from Southamerica (Concepcion, Chile), and we don't know yet the priviledges of your products. I'm from the University San Sebastian, and I know some products have arrived to Chile, but I still don't know them very well. I think, that in my practice, I should know the products that you offer. Any help (and clinical cases) will be most gratefull-

Hello, Dan.
What a great idea! Every week my assistant and I talk about some aspect of our trip to Utah in July of 2006. Not only was our Ultadent Elite Course full of insight into the process to develop new products and manufacture them, it also opened new doors for the use of your wonderful products. We have shared our experiences with many patients. I no longer refer to the Astringident by its proper name. Instead it is call "my scrubbie" in reference to the proper application technique.
I hope to attend at least part of the course offered in Nashville in June. Unfortunately I have a previous commitment for the afternoon.
Keep up your innovative work. I like Ralph's idea about a solution to apply to the tooth to regenerate dentin that has been destroyed by caries!
I continue to promote Ultradent products to all who will listen.

Greetings Dr. Fischer,
I've been a satisfied user of your products for many years. Last summer I attended your Ultradent elite conference at South Jordan, it was a wonderful experience. I am now retired from my practice and am working with my son in a practice that he purchased last summer, shortly after graduation from dental school. Working with my son is a great experience also, as you know from working with your daughter. We are incorporating many Ultradent products into this new practice. My son,Andrew Z. Green DDS, now has time for his honeymoon, so I'm minding the store. He and his wife are traveling to visit three of his classmates in Hawaii and Okinawa. He will be at your Ulradent conference on Thursday. Thank-you for all you have done for dentistry and the many dentists like myself that you have treated so graciously.

Hi Dan,
I saw the invite to your new blog. I am not sure where you are going to find the time to communicate like this.
After you gave us your VIP Tour of Ultradent in November, I was completely overwhelmed by the magnitude of what you have created there. It was beyond ones comprehension. I trully appreciate looking through the Ultradent Catalogue more having seen the operation. Thanks for the great products and research. I'll look foward to seeing you and Jaleena at LLUSD in a few weeks, and maybe at the CDA also?
Thanks for the friendship, products and support,
Richard

Hello Everyone, Just touching base. . .
It sounds like a few of us might meet up again at upcoming lectures. If so, please make a point to say hello. Speaking of lectures, Dr. Oscanyan asked about Neil Jessop’s (my son-in-law) presentation at the UE meeting. I’m glad you enjoyed the course. Our seminars department offers a wide variety of courses throughout the year. I would make a point to touch base with them on when/where you might find a similar format. Veronica, Tecno Import – Ultradent’s distributor in Chile, can also provide guidance on opportunities to learn more about Ultradent. These are the easy questions to address because I’m fortunate enough to have a great support team. Ralph, your question was a little more difficult because it’s almost impossible to pinpoint a single technology that would provide value. If asked again, however, a technology which is really needed and Ultradent does NOT possess the ability to address is the little diagnostic and curing wand used in Star Trek! Take care, folks.

Dr. Fischer,
After reading all of the comments listed on this blog and inquiring with many other dentists, I am impressed with the reputation and integrity of Ultradent. Having worked for two dental supply companies in my career, one direct and one distributor, I have learned that reputation is everything and there are some that are a lot better than others.
Kudos to you and Ultradent for what you bring to the dental industry and many wishes for continued success.

Hi Dr. Fischer, I always feel blessed to have my family and career.I have 2 feet on the ground and reach higher than before.I have had the luxury of coming to Ultradent twice as an educator from the Univ of Ct school of dental medicine.I recently did a dental mission to the Yupik village of Stebbins,Ak.You and your company generously supplied endo materials , amelogen and an ultralume. Before that there was no means to complerte endo in the field The village was greatful. Many teeth were saved , many smiles were saved thanks to you and your generous staff.I will be returning to our"last frontier" .Quiyana(Yupik for thankyou),,Yours sincerely,Linda

Wow Linda! I’m so proud of you for sharing with those less fortunate. In the process, everyone gains/wins! I’m so glad our materials and equipment did the job. And yes, the goal with EndoEze has always been to have a simple quick method of Endodontic treatment that in many respects, can overcome the challenges of more complex techniques. This can even enable more dentists to achieve quality results and furthermore enable us to treat more humans even those who need our total humanitarian care.
I’m glad our team got you the materials you needed. This is something we pride ourselves with at Ultradent. It is an important subject.
Good to hear from you again Linda and keep up your good work!

Hi Dan,
It is always amazing to read about you and Ultradent. I take this opportunity to thank you for all that I have learnt from you, especially the quote "Turn Stumbling stones into Stepping stones".
I am eagerly looking forward to see you on 12th Oct 2008 during the course which you have organized for the Indian dentists group.
